26th June
So you did again our fantastic customers and supporters turned up in their hundreds to cheer and paddle down the Thames in our annual Dragon Boat Regatta.
A fantastic day was had by all, good money was raised and UK PC Pirates were our eventual champions.

5th June
This was a first for us but one we will repeat as we hosted the ‘Big Lunch’ organised by local resident Heather. Local residents were thankfully not put off by the awful weather and everyone brought great food, welcomed new residents to the road and generally had a good catch up.

The tenth anniversary of the infamous Prince Arthur Golf day.

Royal Wedding Street Party
So Grove road was not up for a street party? We think not they cam and filled the place to the street itself. What a fantastic day. Loads of people came to celebrate and the hardcore watched the wedding with us and were there at the end!

21st April

One of our famous race evenings and another load of money raised for a worthwhile set up and Windsor rugby club! We are very proud at The Prince Arthur in our attempts to help grass roots rugby with some fundraising.

A charity auction in aid of of Tommy’s and the Cardiomyopathy Association.
We were delighted to join in and get involved with this event and many thanks to all who donated and raised money.

23rd December

One of the best nights of the year at The Prince Arthur is our carol evening.
And so it was this year as we had two groups of excellent singers leading us in our carols. The mulled wine was flowing and everyone joined in with the singing.
A fantastic night, already planning next year!

Our Christmas lunch turned into the usual festive smash and we would like to thank all who took part in the fancy dress and other party games. A great afternoon.

21st November 2010

Congratulations to Mike and Paul for all the hard work put in yesterday evening cooking and preparing a meal for 100 people in the Prince Arthur for Help 4 Heroes and the Irish Guards benevolent fund. They raised about £2,000 so far. Also a huge thanks to all the staff at The Arthur for going the extra mile to get things sorted out.
Most importantly thanks to all who donated, turned up, those who got cold in the marquee and those who were squashed together at the bar, we are most grateful.

The Prince Arthur Christmas lunch, what can we say other than thank you for coming and making it such a lovely day and an excellent start to Christmas for all involved.

12th December

We have a lot on over the year in the way of birthday parties and impromptu events and happenings but Juice of The Barley deserve special mention as they really got the pub going with some fantastic Irish folk music. They will be back.

31st October

Chunk’s famous Halloween fancy dress party was as good as ever as he had pulled out all the stops and the place was jumping and the extra graveyard marquee and special bar, vodka luge meant a good time was had by all. We are truly worried as to what will happen next time

6th September

The things we nmake our customers do. This saw our crew turning up at the Oakley Court Hotel for a charity Dragon Boat race against 20 plus teams. Our crew were slightly the worse for wear and not at all sure but it did not take long to get into the swing of things and we were only just pipped to the post for a final position by 100th’s of a second.
I am assured that we will be back!

10th July

What can we say about this legendary day in the Prince Arthur calendar its become immense hotly contested and frankly just a bit full on. The beer carts were full and the regular suspects were all on parade with a few Golf Day virgins in attendance. It was an excellent days golf followed by prize giving and penalty shots back at the Prince Arthur. Chris Hewitt was the winner this year.
We are already planning this years extravaganza!

9th June

Another first, soon to be repeated was The Prince Arthur’s wine tasting evening to help us extend our range and frankly for everyone to have a good time. Sure enough we were packed and after several of the twenty wines had been tried there were some fierce debates as to what was good and what was not.

30th May

The Lions went on tour to South Africa and every moment was watched avidly by 100’s of customers on a variety of screens including an extra large screen in the garden with outside bars and food it was an excellent month of rugby at Windsor’s best sports pub.

23rd May

The Prince Arthur’s first ever Beer Festival was a much heralded success with a wide range of Fullers beers and Guest ales, including the rare and very strong Golden Pride.
We are intending to do this again this year and hope that as many of you will fill the garden as you did this year enjoying excellent food, golf games and some excellent weather.

11th April 2009

This saw us take part in the Big Toast, part of Cask Ale Week, when many pubs offering quality cask ale combined to beat the world record biggest raising of glasses. The target was to have more than 485,000 people nationally raising a glass and the aim was to show just how important your local pub is to its community.

Tonight saw our annual carol concert led by the excellent singers from St Georges Chapel. The mulled wine flowed there were mince pies for all and everyone got in the festive spirit. A packed pub was also treated to a fantastic version of Swing Low Sweet Chariot to keep the Kiwi rugby crowd on their back foot. We, as do all our customers look forward to the next carol concert.

We do not always mention individuals but feel we should congratulate Mr and Mrs Lloyd who got married on the 19th December and whose friends and family joined us en masse on the 20th to just check that there was nothing left in the area to drink. Fiona and Gareth are loyal supporters of The Arthur and we all wish them much love and happiness for the future. Although we are quite confident that Gareth will avoid raspberry beer in the future following the yard that Fred, his master of ceremonies and locally renowned chef following his recent appearance on Come Dine with me, had on standby.

The Prince Arthur Christmas party now this has evolved over the years from limbo to mayhem and back again. This year saw rounds of ‘Who am I’, building gingerbread houses and a quick round of pass the parcel which resulted in our four helpers for Santa. Please see the photo gallery for a few shots. Nina took over the kitchen and we would like to thank our customers for joining in and their support on the day, it would seem that everyone had an excellent time!

Prince Arthur Golf Society Day made its come back and with the help of Alan on beer delivery and Savannnah Dry at the 11th tee a great day was had by all. Zinzan Brooke won with Chris Schleter and Matt Evans taking the second and third place respectively. Nearest the pin was James Calhoun and longest drive was from James Gunson. Dee was our best lady, Robert Horler the worst dressed and Danny Galvin took the honours for wearing the most logos on his clothes. The new prize for the best four ball was won by the two Chris’, Drew and Zinzan.

We were very lucky with the weather and as usual Blue Mountain just let us get on with it. Emma and Harry are very appreciative of the effort that everyone goes to, to get the day off (However that may be!!). Without so many like minded people it would not be such a great day.

We proved yet again that there is only one place in Windsor to watch rugby and that is The Prince Arthur. The rugby world cup became all consuming to our customers with good crowds for all games. However once England made it to the semi finals things got really packed, so what did we do, doubled the size of the bar by adding a 62’inch plasma screen to the garden for the final. This turned into an enormous occasion and was a cracking night even with the wrong result.

We would like to thank all our customers for the support that they gave us during this period and also to encourage you all to return for the Six Nations in 2008.

The Prince Arthur Golf Day is now firmly established as the social event of the season with many booking their holidays around it to make sure that the can attend.

Our very generous sponsors this year were Castle lager to whom we owe a massive debt of gratitude and their very generous supply of beer was engaged by some more than others. There was a hint of a more competition this year the organisers felt, which obviously we will have stamped out by next year!

It is even rumoured that Harry will play in 2008 and not just drive the drinks trolley.

Barnado's owe Jodie a debt of gratitude as she organised a fun evening of races for this worthwhile charity where £450 was raised from a loyal band of hearty gamblers, prizes were won and traded by the great and the good, even if some customers had not quite grasped the concept of how it all works!! 

We do hope to have another one of these great nights later in the year and will keep everyone posted.

September 10th 2006

We were delighted to be able to raise an admirable £650 for this effort and Mike will now do his bit and cycle across South Africa ! Seems like we definitely got the good end of the deal!

It goes without saying that we are most grateful to all who contributed, turned up and of course to local and very successful Estate Agents Hamilton Chess for their kind sponsorship of the evening so that all money raised could go to the charity.

We cannot work out what is more popular on this day the beer buggy or the competition!

We have to thank our excellent sponsors in the forms of Red bull and Smirnoff who certainly made the day go well and indeed the final holes were trickier than the first after so much liquid refreshment.

James Gunson was the eventual winner and all at The prince Arthur would like to thank Jimmy for unraveling the scores!

No fish died this year and apparently there were fewer buggy crashes too!

Jodie got her team together to take over Epsom for another year and by all accounts has cemented this trip in the Prince Arthur calendar.

Safe with a proper bus this year she shepherded them through the who can drink the most on the bus and who can lose the most at the bookies competitions.

It can only be said that the wheels fully fell off upon their return to base cam or Planet Arthur as it should have been known that night and as the dancing started an excellent night was had by all.
